By identifying and removing redundant, variable-length data sequences before they are stored to disk, Data Domain DD670 systems provide a storage footprint that is 10 to 30 times smaller, on average, than the original dataset. Backup data can then be efficiently replicated and retrieved over existing networks for tape-free disaster recovery or for consolidated tape operations.
