CommVault Replication
CommVault Replication provides capabilities for creating online replicas of production data, which deliver better Recovery Point and Recovery Time Objective (RPO/RTO) benefits than traditional backup and recovery approaches because they are immediately available and do not need to be restored before use. Also, traditional backup can be performed from replica images rather than from production data, to avoid performance impacts.
CommVault offers these products for Replication, which use continuous capture replication and snapshot technologies to create replica images of production data:
- CommVault Continuous Data Replicator (CDR), for continuous capture replication on Windows, Linux and UNIX host systems
- CommVault Quick Recovery® software, for managing array-based snapshot creation
- CommVault Recovery Director™ software, for using QR™ images as the basis for creating CommVault Galaxy® backup copies
You may want to combine use of either CDR or QR/RD capabilities with CommVault Galaxy® data protection. CommVault’s Singular approach makes adding these capabilities seamless, using the same server systems and storage devices, all managed from the same Unified Console interface.
